Until recently, the coach of Bupyeong Elementary School U-12 was considering which position would fit for No.10, Hyunsung Shim. At just 11 years old, he stands out among his peers with exceptional individual skills, excelling in both offense and defense. Whether playing as a CB or CF, he consistently delivered good performances. However, the coach wanted to find out the best position more clearly and objectively that truly matched his potential.
Through the match against Epiripto FC in the same region, we could find Shim shows better performance in CF. Playing as a CB in the 1st half and switching to CF in the 2nd half, he demonstrated superior performance in CF even his energy should have ran out. As a CF, he recorded more sprints, higher sprint distances, covered much more space, and also made a lot of offensive movements inside the box.
Of course it is hard to determine the best position for the player by energy level alone. However, it will be possible to test the right position more clearly and objectively if we can judge the parts that cannot be seen with our naked eyes through data.
